Silence.
Can you hear it?
Do you enjoy it?
I do. It’s quiet in here. All I can hear is the ticking clock and the occasional sound of the blinds dancing with the breeze.
I can hear my inner voice, loud and clear, in this silence.
I can listen to my thoughts with ease, such is the clarity this stillness brings.
And I, for one, love this silence. I love reflecting in this soothing quietness.
Yes, there’s a laundry list of chores and errands waiting for me—but now is not the time.
Sitting down and relishing the stillness has become one of my favorite activities, something which I was deprived of over the past couple of months during the summer break.
So here I am, writing and reading in the intervals, once I’ve fully immersed myself in the silence. It’s much like enjoying a conversation while sipping hot tea.
Well, I have a feeling that the racket my kids create only adds more sweetness to the silence I savor.
How do you feel about silence? Do you crave it as much as I do? I’d love to know.
